SoftPro has been present in African continent, especially in Ethiopia, for more than 17 years.  The following illustrates the services delivered by SoftPro to clients:

TimeX Trading PLC (Ethiopia)
Timex Trading Plc was established as a sole proprietorship in the year 2002 E.C with a vision of catering to the construction sector in order to alleviate the vast shortage present in the country for housing, office, road, and other infrastructural services needed for the development of Ethiopia.

Period: 2018 (ERP R12.2 Implementation)

SoftPro engaged with Timex to implement the following modules:

International Clinical Laboratories (Ethiopia)
ICL PLC Ethiopia is a private company which provides laboratory services to people in Ethiopia.

 

Period: 2016 (ERP R12.2 Implementation)

SoftPro engaged with ICL to implement the following modules: 

  • General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management

  • Inventory, Purchasing

  • Core HR, Payroll

  • Oracle BI

Period: 2016 – to Date (ERP R12.2 Support and Maintenance)

Softpro is providing (yearly) post go-live support and maintenance service to ICL for the implemented modules.

 

Ethio Telecom (Ethiopia)
Ethio Telecom is a government owned Public Telecom Operator and second largest state owned company in Ethiopia. It provides multiple types of communication services including Fixed Line, GSM, CDMA Wireless and Broadband technologies such as Broadband Internet, Broadband Multimedia, CDMA, EV-DO and Dialup.
During the course of the year 2010, Ethio Telecom went through a major transformation: not only organization review, re-branding and name change from “Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation” to “Ethio Telecom” but together a review of its business processes so as to strengthen and streamline its Financial, Supply Chain and Human Resources & Payroll Systems and Processes.


Implementation of Oracle R12.1.3 (Phase I & II)

Period: 2011- 2018

The scope of the ERP Project consisted in implementing Oracle E-Business Suite (Release 12.1) catering for all the Ethio Telecom branches in the country. The main tasks consisted of:

  • Requirement Gathering to finalize Business needs

  • Solution Design

  • Install, Configure, Customize, Document and Implement the solution

  • Data Migration / Initialization

  • Integration with Ethio Telecom OSS and BSS 

  • System Integration Testing, Training, Monitoring and Roll-out of the system

  • Support (On-site / Off-site)

The main challenge was to implement an ERP System within a near 100% manual environment relying solely on few or non-existent legacy systems, mostly developed in-house.

Support and Maintenance Services (Phase I)

Period: 2012 – 2017

Since 2012, SPIL has been providing application and database support, key user trainings as well as implementing enhancements and change requests within the framework of a special Maintenance and Support Agreement.

 

Custom Payroll and Oracle HR at Rey & Lenferna Ltd

Period: 2009

Rey & Lenferna is a Mauritian company, which provides industrial and domestic products and projects to the Indian Ocean region. They have implemented Oracle EBS (Financials and Project Management). SPIL implemented Oracle HR followed by development and seamless integration of a custom payroll system.

EBS at CGM (France) and Staples (Italy)

Period: 2006-2007

In partnership with Spoon Consulting (Mauritius), SPIL provided the off-shore support in the implementation of EBS in several projects including CGM (“Compagnie Générale Maritime”- France) and Staples (Italy). These included major customisations to accommodate the specific requirements of the customers.

Upgrade of Oracle EBS at Tropic Knits

Period: 2005

Tropic Knits (part of CIEL Group) is a powerful textile manufacturing company in the region (Mauritius, Madagascar, India and Bangladesh). Tropic Knits had implemented the Core Financial modules (AP, AR, CM and GL) as well as Procurement (PO) and Logistics (INV) in 1999. The project’s aim was to migrate Oracle EBS from version 11.0.2 to 11.5.10.  It was split in 3 phases: 

  • Audit of the existing system

  • Training of key-users, prototyping of new requirements, preparation of test-books

  • Full cycle tests, end-user training, parallel run and support after system went live


ERP solution for ATS 

Period: 2004-2005

ATS provides services and equipment to the Textile industry in Mauritius and in the region. The project was a fresh install of Oracle EBS (with migration from a legacy system) of the Core Financial modules (AP,AR,CM, GL, FA) as well as Procurement (PO), Logistics (INV) and Sales (OM).

 

ERP solution for Grays Inc. Ltd

Period: 2004-2005

Grays Inc. Ltd. (part of Terra Group) is a manufacturing and distribution company in Mauritius. They import various goods (Food, Wine, Spirits, Beauty & Personal Care, Pharmaceuticals…) and manufacture some (spirits and perfumes). The project was a fresh install of Oracle EBS (with migration from a legacy system) of the Core Financial modules (AP, AR, CM, GL, FA) as well as Procurement (PO), Logistics (INV) , Sales (OM) and Manufacturing (WIP, BOM).

TELCO References
SoftPro has been a partner of Sofrecom (A subsidiary of France Telecom) since 1993 for the implementation of their Billing and Customer Care Solution for Telecom Operators, commercially known as “GAIA” and developed with and around Oracle Technology. From 1994 to 1998 SoftPro’s staff played leading roles (Development Manager, Pilot Site Manager) in the CBS project at TELKOM South Africa.


In 2001, SoftPro signed a contract with Sofrecom for the customization of GAIA to meet the specific requirements of different countries and has worked on several projects highlighted hereunder:

Development of new GAIA Module: Gaia Interco    

Period: 2001 - 2005
Sofrecom chose SPIL to develop the Interconnect application that would enhance their offer. The first phase concerned the interchange of accounts of a Telecom Operator with other local and international operators.
The software has been implemented and is operational in Ivory Coast, Mauritius, Jordan and Djibouti.


Implementation of GAIA: Sonatel (Senegal)    

Period: 2001
Customization and Enhancement of Financial Module: Banking/Cash Management, Re-enforcing controls at Cash counter, Interfaces with the Accounting System.
